The BBT - Big Boys Toy Truss

No Toy. No Joy.

Yes, you read that right.

The BBT can take a distributed load of 20 tons over a span of 30 metres. This makes it the strongest aluminium truss in its class and it can take up to 60% more load than previous comparable trusses. 

How is this possible?

The Big Boys Toy Truss has not a single weld and is fully bolted with the patented Ripp Lock Nut System. No washer is needed and the patented Ripp Lock Nut can be reused and loses less than 20% of its preload force after multiple uses.

At the same time, the BBT offers enormous flexibility with minimal volume: as there are no welded parts, damaged bracing can be replaced directly at the venue. This saves costs and time.

The BBT is available with 3 different bracing sets - depending on the load requirements, the appropriate bracing can be installed. The BBT can therefore be built in heights of 1400mm, 1200mm and 800mm.

If required, the truss can be dismantled very easily and thus offers an incredibly low transport volume: up to 150 metres of truss can be transported with only one truck. This results in a 50% reduction in transport volume, which in turn leads to considerable savings in transport costs and CO₂ emissions.

Just as an example: on an average European tour with 30 cities, 44 tons of CO₂ are saved.

The BBT is available in lengths of 2 metres, 3 metres, 4 metres and 6 metres. Of course, we also manufacture special lengths upon customer request.

Black powder coating is of course possible for the BBT as well as for all our other trusses.

The BBT can be used for extremely large and elaborate open air stage roofs as well as for large indoor concerts or events.

Various accessories are available for the BBT:

The transport box can hold the bracing sets for the 1400mm or 1200mm heights, or alternatively 2 sets for the 800mm heights.

The Round Sling Protection is easy to position and simple to assemble.

The Stacking Set can accommodate 2 BBT sets and is available in 2 different versions.

The Transport Dolly is universal and can be mounted on any truss length.

And then, of course, there is the Sleeve Block, the Head Section, the Locking Section, the Base and Suspension Points.

The BBT can also be used in areas outside of event technology, such as road construction or hall construction.

In the road construction sector, with a system height of 2.5 metres, the BBT can be used as a temporary pedestrian bridge or cable bridge.
The great advantage here is its modular construction. The bridge or overpass can be extended or reduced in height, or lengthened or shortened to meet the respective requirements. This means that fewer "special constructions" are needed, which are often scrapped after a large construction site, but the individual components can be used again and again for completely different purposes.

In the hall construction sector, the BBT can be used to guide pipes and cables from one hall to another. It can also be used as a passage bridge for employees between two halls or buildings.
